Episode Fifteen: Is a blue wave coming

Is a blue wave coming?  That’s one of many things we will be talking about on today’s show with Denise from California.

At the top of the show I discuss some of the top news stories of the last week or so, including reports that Michael Cohen is ready to flip on his former boss Donald Trump.

Cohen is prepared to testify that The President knew about a meeting at Trump Tower in 2016.

This is important because we know special council Muller has been interested in Manafort’s role in that meeting.

According to Newsweek, during a 2017 raid on Manfort’s home, FBI agents were specifically looking for information related to the Trump tower meeting.

In business news, Facebook stock got crushed last week due to slow growth while in national news California wildfires have set the state ablaze.

Cal 3 initiative

Denise brings us new news on the ballot initiative that would split the Golden State into three separate states.

The state Supreme Court removed the initiative from the ballot after the Planning and Conservation League sued.  According to The Hill:

The court said that it decided to remove the measure from the ballot “because significant questions have been raised regarding the proposition’s validity,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

“We conclude that the potential harm in permitting the measure to remain on the ballot outweighs the potential harm in delaying the proposition to a future election,” the court wrote.

Going after AOC

We continue to discuss the right wing fixation with Alexandra Ocasio Cortez running as a socialist democrat.

We have a little fun at the expense of  Meghan McCain, co-host on The View, thanks to this video from the Majority Report:

2018 mid terms

We move to the 2018 mid terms by discussing the “advice” being given to democrats by Republicans who are against Trump like James Comey.

Some lifelong Republicans like Richard Painter and Lori Stegmann are even running as Democrats due primarily to their disdain for Trump.

Is this good for the party?

Or should Democrats become concerned over a right wing take over as conservatives, like rats jumping off a sinking ship, try to find safety amid a blue wave coming.

Republicans like Painter and Stegmann have been against what Democrats stood for, for years.

Are they ready to change their stands on key issues of abortion, voting rights and social justice?

Or do they want to change the Democratic party into a party that moves toward their issues?

Election forecasts

Finally, Denise references a TYT clip where host Cenk Uygur reports Trump is losing his base according to polls.  Watch here:

We end with devastating polling featured on Five Thirty Eight that show the problem Republicans will have keeping the house.

These include areas that were thought safe for Republicans like the California county currently represented by Russian friend Rep Dana Rohrabacher.

According to Sabato’s Crystal ball anything goes for the Senate.
